THE LAST TIME I WAS HERE
The last time I was here was 1
month ago, sometimes you got to leave this “online” world and get into “real”
life. Do not be deceived 1,000 + friends don’t make you a benevolent person, your
real circle are those whom you see in physical, real life phases.
Truly, facebook, whatsapp, instagram, snapchat, twitter…. Has disconnected us from the real circle. It just places pressure on us to update our status, to view how many likes we have, to comment on issues or post which never make a difference, to type “Laughing Out Loud (LOL)” when we aactually are frowning in our heart.

You see, I love science, I love computers, but I hate slavery.
The first lesson I learnt after embarking on my 1 month-offline-walk is how addicted I have become to the social media. With urges to come online everyday, and the feeling of being away from where I feel the world.
I cannot be a slave to technology, I would use it but when it begins to use me, then I quit it.
No apology, no debate and no question about that. The funny thing is that Mark Zuckerberg never called during this time to check if I’m dead or not. MTN didn’t send a “check-out message”, Twitter didn’t tweet about me, neither did google search for me, they all really don’t care about us. They care about their money and that’s all. All the time you waste online never counts, sad enough.
My time was given to me by God and I won’t give it to technology except to post facts like these and to “stray for a little while”. All those people you see online might not really be those whom you think, from the names its all clear.
Stop building a comfortable world online, build an online community but never let it be your world.
We are obeying Sod’s Law if we continue to spend
The future does not lie in technology. It lies in us. We are the future, we shouldn’t give that to technology.
In essence, take time out to be out of the media, maybe you will begin to see how slavish you’ve become, how addicted you’ve become to an inter-connection joined by waves not by physical touch, but more importantly take time out to see how the world really is, not the way technology says it is.
During your vacation, visit an orphanage
or a government school or some old friends or some poor people or engage in
some serious thoughts over the future.
I respect you online, but I respect you all the more in real life.
Leave online, live real life.
Lastly, I am not fighting against social media, I am only advocating for real life.
“Social media has made us less
than what God wants us to be. We live less become we chat more."
