Hard Work Is Not A Secret To Success
Myths and secrets are approach with sacredness and cynicism.
They are these kind of stuffs that its either we believe or not, or sometimes we just agree that they are just that way "myths-not worth verifying".
That's exactly what we did to "Hard Work".
The first complain you often hear is that "But I know hardworking people who are not successful". Just after that, "Hardwork is not rewarded. There are other options" will be heard.
We've been told, you don't have to work like you're going to die, this 9-5 work is not for you, you don't have to work hard you can do something you love and life doesn't have to be this difficult! So, we head out towards our career with the same thoughts, believing luck, talent and connection will build a successful life for us.
By the way, success is not having a car, a big house, money to spend at the weekends and lots of admirers! All these are children of success.
Don't ask me for the definition of success, I don't know either. I just know what's its not. And I know it is not all of these things because they are easy to come by and fluctuate at a pace that are unpredictable, success is too important to be such simple things.
We've disowned hard work, sentenced it to death and prepared a grave for it. Yet, the "thing" have refused to die
Hard work still seems to be the way. It is the glaringly absent condiment in our meal of for life.
Talent, connection and luck is not enough!
Hard work isn't a secret to success, it is a prerequisite. There is no successful person that is not hard working. While there may be hardworking people who are not very successful yet, there is no single person whose success is globally known that is not hard working.
We find meaning for life through the work we do, hard work sets apart the ordinary from the very successful. There is no trick and no magic, anyone who is not wiling to work WILL not eat.
We wish to wish away that we don't have to work hard in order to become the success we imagine, but that's not possible. It is a constant in this tough world, that those who emerge as leaders, exceptional ones and more successful ones are those that work hard.
You better stop thinking of any possible way that does not include hard work, cause there is none. Luck, talent and connection may get you all those things mentioned earlier as success, but it will never get you the satisfaction that comes from pouring the best of yourself into the world. The satisfaction of seeing your toil and labour making a difference, creating an impact and bringing Glory to God.
You may not have to work like Elon Musk who is known for his tireless work ethics, always busy; or Serena Williams who is always up by 6AM playing Tennis since the age of 7; or Michael Jordan who takes 100 jump shots a day during summer; or Jeff Bezos whose entire life has been characterized by working hard, everyone in his class backed down when he announced he is going to be valedictorian but you must work, and work harder if you must achieve more results than every other person.
Hard work is not a secret to success! It is a prerequisite for success.
