I AM NIGERIA
I am Nigeria.
I am the Lion long foretold,
With splendor of all the blessing that God created,
We are not yet there, but we are not where we used to be.
We are different, but together. …Diversity in unity, A nation that has been pillaged, ravaged
A nation that is rich yet in some quarters I am poor,
In the day time I don’t have respite, In the night time my cry only increase
I am Nigeria
Only a few nations share the kind of glory I have
Every kilometer is a new tribe and a new people
That’s how diverse we are,
I am Nigeria
People talk more about the things I have gone through more than the things that God is doing for me,
We are a special breed, Born out of love, and cared under grace
My travails are not over,
Indeed my brethren have sold me,
I have been sold by leaders,
Traded for corruption and stabbed by my people,
I am denied by my children,
They call me a fool at every birthday,
I am Nigeria,
No one can break my resolve,
No one can destroy my future,
I forgive all the past hurts,
I let go of all the blood shed,
I forgive you for your mistake,
I only ask that you save my future.
I am Nigeria I am in perils,
Yet my destiny is intact,
Anyone can steal my resources but no one can still my destiny,
I interpreted the dreams of nations,
But I was cast away by my friends when I needed them most
Although I have been round-about the same point by challenges,
My destiny is unperturbed,
My destiny is prophetic,
All my fountains are in God,
And God is in me,
None of you dreamt me into being and none of you can establish my end,
I haven’t even begun,
We live in strange times,
Look at how colorful we are,
How we are colorful,
How colorful He made us,
We are God’s special design,
Only God could have dreamt such diversity into being,
No man can control our destiny,
Everything God does is an indicator of where God wants us to be,
I am Nigeria In a great crisis,
A great distress,
An unknown past with a promising future,
It is you I am waiting for, You all, Nigerians!!

Oh God! Bless every tribe, strengthen every language,
Re-invent us to salvage us from our own carnage,
Whatever that has been done is of no measure to what you can do for us,
We are waiting on you to give us a right path and clear direction. ………………….
