A LETTER TO A YOUNGER SISTER

4:20 PM, 9TH September 2017.

Dear Ritdirnen,
I have been shy in regards to talking to you. 

I mean shy in the sense that I don’t know what to tell someone as intelligent as you are. You are a very unique and talented GIRL. For many reasons, I cannot forget to thank God for your life almost every time. Your performance in school and in spiritual matters have been overwhelming. No doubt about it, you are the best of those. 

And again, you are very beautiful. Very beautiful indeed, I use to classify people like you as those born on the 8th Day, after God rested. You are a perfection of God’s creation. However, this is my deepest fear again. 

I am afraid of your beauty. I can handle almost anything about you but your beauty is what I cannot handle. And sadly it can lead to your downfall. Many of times you see me acting strange and as though I am totally against you, it’s not actually so, it is that I am confused. Confused about what to do. I don’t really know what to do most of the time. I don’t want to lose you to this world and its vanity. Too bad for me that I don’t have any experience in handling “beautiful sisters” or daughters. You are my first experiment.

You women again can be very confusing. I cannot determine any of your moves. You are very dynamic. This has added to my fear. 

And there is something about boys that you don’t know. Many of them are confused, during their confusion only a woman can organize their thoughts. When these thoughts are organized, they are usually on how to devour the girl. A BOY can do anything in order to have a woman he “loves” and he can do anything with her. (Notice the word “Boy”, I didn’t use “man”) and most of what you are seeing in our streets are boys. Boys have refused to grow, many of them enjoy being boys because it doesn’t make them responsible. It will amaze you to know that many of the people you see in the Senate are boys too. Real men are difficult to find. Many of them are trying to do what I am trying to do now-build others. Your real MAN will find you.

My goal is to ensure that you become a standard masterpiece. A proverbs 31 Woman.
I want to ensure that you become extremely successful, in fact (and honestly), more than me. 

But to do that you must ignore many of those boys that will come around. And I assure you, many of them will come around with Two Billion Truck of promises. They will promise you paradise, they will promise you eternity and they will promise you anything including nothing. And I tell you, the promises are usually tempting, they look realistic. In those times, they never tell you how they will fulfill them. 

They will call all the sweet names in this world, they will use your picture as a profile picture, they will worship you…….

But Sis, don’t believe them. I tell you, don’t believe. None of those promises would be fulfilled. I am a male, and I know exactly what leads boys to make such promises. Many of these boys you see don’t even have dreams, they don’t know anything, they don’t live for anything and they don’t want anything except “pleasure”. Anything that makes them suffer, pain, think or disturb their comfort zone is their enemy. Many of them cannot even put their trousers on their waist, how do you expect them to help you dress well? All that “You look cute….. so so take away”, “You look great” and all the other poems they form for you is from their emotions, not from their HEAD.

You must beware, they will come in thousands, especially for you. However, you can always build a defense for yourself. You can build your future instead of expecting these hoodlums to build yours for you. I really doubt if any real man will come to you now, real men know that you are not ready for love or relationship. (I am sorry if that sounds insulting) I do not think you are ready for the responsibility of love. 

I know you are beginning to feel that you have to make yourself needable, well, that’s not bad but shey you know that the most difficult things to find are the most expensive? You can become difficult to find by being very retrospective and educated. 

For now, your goal should be how to get educated and not how to get a guy to love you.
I know of only one promise for you, one that will never fail, chase God. 

I mean, chase God. Don’t follow Him, Sis. Chase God. Forget about all these things social media is saying. When you chase God and become successful, the world cannot ignore you. Never. They will not. 

Build your capacity, don’t experiment. You don’t have to have so many broken relationships before meeting the right person. You can build capacity and in the end, you will become the kind of woman that every man wants. 

And you surely will become. 

Forgive me for all the harsh things I’ve done to you. It’s truly out of love. None of them was meant to hurt you.
Dad or Mum should be doing this, they should have explained many things to you but they didn’t. They didn’t explain it to me too and I made a lot of mistakes. I don’t want you to make any.
You can live with a clean perfect heart until you say “I DO”.
There are many things we need to talk about. But for now, let’s digest this. I will write much correspondence to you, you don’t need to reply, I just need you to become someone very good in life.
That is my job. 

And I can abandon everything in order to make that happen. No price is too much to pay in order to watch my beautiful sister become a God-fearing, successful and excellent woman. 

The books I have, do well to read them, I will get others for you. Including those that have to do with sex education. (I won’t leave that out, you think I will be shy abi?). 

When you don’t become successful in the end, I want it to be totally your fault, not my fault, not the societies fault, and not even God.
You can choose to be a great woman and that will make all of us proud.
I really love you, sis. 

I’m feeling a headache, I should have said more. I expect a lot from you. Please don’t disappoint me.
